Second team ready to shine

Ambleside's 2nd team will be looking to build on their draw on the opening day of the season as they take on Kirkby Stephen Juniors in the Netherwood League today.

The team opened their season against Windermere, drawing 3-3 in difficult playing conditions.

Ambleside started the match well, fighting for each ball and soon surging to a 3-1 lead, with Olivia Ormrod and Lucy Dixon (twice) on the score sheet. With the hot weather, and many having also turned out for the first team in the County Tournament the day before, a stubborn Windermere side fought their way back in to the match.

The players have worked well in training in the intervening weeks, with passing and fitness being the main focus, and will be hoping to see that pay off today.

The match starts at 12.30pm at Kirkbie Kendal Astro, Please come down to support!

Positive signs at the start of the season

Despite an opening day loss against Kirkby Stephen, Ambleside showed a lot of promise and will be looking to build on that for the remainder of the year.
