Super seconds fight back.

Penrith 2s 5 vs 6 Ambleside 2s

Ambleside's second team continue to make good progress in the Netherwood League, showing fantastic team spirit in a stunning comeback at Penrith.

Penrith were the stronger team out of the blocks, soaring to a 3-0 lead in the opening 15 minutes to leave the Greens shell-shocked.

The Greens however fought back well, working the ball round the pitch and came back in to the game through goals from April Barclay (3), Lucy Dixon (2) and Olivia Ormrod.

Ambleside will be looking to take that confidence forward in to the remainder of the season, starting with their game away against Carlisle this Sunday.

First team start new year with a bang

Ambleside started 2017 in style, winning 6-0 against local rivals Kendal in the Cumbria League.

The game started off evenly matched, but as the Greens got used to a difficult pitch they were able to string together their passes, making the break through before the break as Polly Holden netted twice in quick succession.

Kendal continued to push for a way back in to the game in the second half, but Ambleside were able to capitalise on the gaps with Donna Robinson seizing a well taken hatrick, before Jess Young capped off a tremendous show of hockey with a well taken strike.

Ambleside have now played every team once and will be looking to carry the confidence from this result in to the second half of the season.
